Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10/10/2025
1. Who we are
Mock Media (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides tools to preview creative assets in real-world mockups and export presentation materials. We act as the data controller for personal information collected through our website and app. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. Scope
This policy applies to personal information collected when you visit our site, create an account, upload content, subscribe, or interact with us.
3. Information we collect
- Account details: email address and profile fields (e.g., display name, company, job title, time zone).
- User content: assets you upload (e.g., images, videos, logos) to generate previews, templates, and exports.
- Usage & device data: app/server logs, browser type, OS, IP address (for security and approximate location), timestamps, feature interactions.
- Billing & payments: subscription status and related metadata. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our provider (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: messages to support and feedback.
4. How we collect information
- Directly from you when you sign up, set a profile, upload content, or contact support.
- Automatically via cookies/SDKs and server logs when you use the Service.
- From service providers (e.g., Stripe) as needed to operate subscriptions and detect fraud.
5. Why we use your information
- To provide, operate, and secure the Service you request.
- To render your uploads into previews, templates, and exports.
- To set up and maintain your account and subscription.
- To communicate about updates, notices, and support.
- To monitor performance, troubleshoot, and improve features.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We share limited data with trusted processors only as necessary to provide the Service:
- Supabase (auth, database, storage) — to authenticate users, persist app data, and secure sessions.
- Cloudinary (media processing & CDN) — to process and deliver uploaded images/videos and logos.
- Stripe (payments & subscriptions) — to collect and manage payments, invoices, and prevent fraud.
- Google Analytics (analytics) — to measure traffic and usage. Google may set cookies and process information in the United States or other countries. You can opt out using Google’s opt-out tools.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers, authorities, or other third parties if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer.
7. International transfers
Our providers may process personal information in countries other than Australia (including the EU and the United States). We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information in a manner consistent with the APPs.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, enhance security, measure usage, and improve the Service.
8.1 Types of cookies we use
- Strictly necessary: Essential for core functionality, such as authentication and security. The Service may not work without these.
- Functional: Remember preferences (e.g., time zone, UI choices) to provide a better experience.
- Analytics: Help us understand traffic and feature usage (e.g., Google Analytics).
8.2 Services that set cookies
- Supabase: sets auth/session cookies and uses storage to keep you signed in and secure requests.
- Cloudinary: may set CDN-related cookies for asset delivery and performance.
- Stripe: may set cookies for checkout, fraud detection, and payment session management.
- Google Analytics: sets analytics cookies to measure traffic and engagement across pages and features.
8.3 Managing cookies
- Browser controls: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break authentication or core functionality.
- Google Analytics: Opt out using Google’s browser add-on or configure “Do Not Track” / limit ad personalisation in your browser and Google account.
- Private/Incognito mode: Use private browsing to limit cookie persistence between sessions.
8.4 Cookie retention
Cookie lifetimes vary by purpose and provider. Session cookies expire when you close your browser; persistent cookies last longer (e.g., days to months) unless you delete them via browser settings. We aim to keep retention proportional to the purpose (e.g., shorter for analytics where feasible).
8.5 Updates to cookies
The specific cookies/services we use may change as we improve the Service. We will update this section to reflect material changes.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated content; some information (e.g., transactional records) may be retained as required by law.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may also object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@mockmedia.com.au.
You can opt out of non-essential communications using unsubscribe links in emails or adjusting notification preferences (where available).
12. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
13. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first at support@mockmedia.com.au. If you are not satisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest changes. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
